AIIMS Confirms Asaram Bapu’s Health Does Not Require Hospitalization, Supreme Court to Review Case

The All India Institute for Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has informed the Supreme Court that Asumal Harpalani, widely known as Asaram Bapu, does not need hospital care despite his medical conditions. The 85-year-old spiritual leader, currently imprisoned for his involvement in a 2013 rape case, requires continuous assistance from trained caregivers, according to the medical report submitted to the court.

This latest development arises from a Supreme Court directive issued on July 17, which instructed the Rajasthan government to assess Asaram’s health status. The court was prompted by claims from Asaram’s legal team that he had suffered from “acute internal bleeding,” raising concerns over his health and the potential for an interim bail based on medical grounds. The court had stated that it would only consider granting bail if a serious medical necessity was established, such as a risk to his life.
