AAP Protests in Mumbai: Members Detained Over MP Merger with BJP

Mascharenhas had previously informed the police of the protest plans, receiving acknowledgment of this communication just hours before the incident. His social media posts highlighted the situation, indicating that he faced unlawful restrictions on his movements.

“I am not allowed to leave my house. This is both illegal and unacceptable,” Mascharenhas stated on social media. His comments reflected a growing discontent among AAP members over what they perceive as state interference in their democratic right to protest. He further claimed that there were orders from high authorities to prevent the peaceful demonstration against what they termed as the ‘treachery’ of their party leaders.
