Complaint Lodged Against Woman for Challenging BJP Leader Over Protest Traffic Block in Mumbai

Mumbai witnessed a dramatic turn of events on Friday as a complaint was lodged against a woman who vocally confronted Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Girish Mahajan during a protest march that caused significant traffic congestion in the Worli area. The incident occurred on Tuesday, during a demonstration organized by the ruling Mahayuti coalition in Maharashtra, which aimed to draw attention to various state issues.

The complaint was filed at the Worli police station the following day by an individual who took offense at the woman’s actions. As the protest led to an extensive traffic jam, the woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, exited her vehicle to express her frustration directly to Mahajan and the police officers present at the scene.

Reports indicate that she was stuck in traffic for over an hour and was anxious to reach her destination to pick up her child. In a moment of rising tension, she challenged Mahajan, urging him and the police to allow traffic to flow instead of blocking the road for the protest. “There’s an empty ground available for the protest. What is wrong with you?” she was quoted saying, as she demanded that the police intervene to alleviate the traffic situation.

Girish Mahajan, who serves as a state minister, attempted to diffuse the situation by asking her to remain calm. However, the woman’s insistence on the immediate clearing of the road drew attention on social media, where she received praise for her boldness. Protests in Mumbai have been a contentious issue, especially since the Maharashtra government designated Azad Maidan as the exclusive venue for all protests in South Mumbai starting August of this year.
