BBMB Organizes Collective Yoga Session on International Yoga Day 2026
Regular Yoga Practice Enhances Concentration, Decision-Making Ability and Work Efficiency at the Workplace

Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), under the guidance of Chief Engineer Rakesh Gupta, organized a collective yoga session at the BBMB Community Hall on the occasion of the 12th International Yoga Day. The special event witnessed enthusiastic participation from senior officers, employees, students of DAV School, and local yoga enthusiasts.
Sharing details of the event, Chief Engineer Rakesh Gupta stated that yoga is not merely a form of physical exercise but a holistic way of life that brings harmony among body, mind, and soul. He emphasized that under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, yoga has emerged as a powerful global medium for connecting humanity.
He also appreciated the continuous efforts being undertaken by BBMB under the guidance of Engineer Manoj Tripathi, Chairman, BBMB, and Manohar Lal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Power, Government of India, to promote employee welfare and encourage the practice of yoga.
Highlighting the benefits of yoga, Superintending Engineer (Power) Ajit Kumar said that in today’s fast-paced and technology-driven lifestyle, yoga serves not only as a source of physical fitness but also as an effective tool for achieving mental peace. It helps reduce stress and anxiety while providing stability of mind. He further stated that regular yoga practice improves employees’ concentration, decision-making ability, and overall work efficiency.
During the yoga session, participants practiced Pranayama, Surya Namaskar, Tadasana, Bhujangasana, Shavasana, and various other yoga postures along with meditation. Yoga trainer Kamlesh Bhatia guided participants through different yoga techniques and explained the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life.
On this occasion, Executive Engineers Vinay Kumar, Arvinderpal Singh Ubhi, Hardyal Singh, and Gaurav Lamba; SDOs Gopal Singh and Rajeev Kumar; Junior Engineers Gulshan Kumar, Jatin Sharma, and Naginder Yadav, along with other officers and employees, were also present.
