Uddhav Thackeray Dismisses Rumors of Shiv Sena-Congress Merger

Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction), firmly refuted speculations about a possible merger with the Congress party during a public event marking his party’s 60th foundation day in Mumbai. Thackeray questioned the rationale behind such claims, stating, “If we didn’t merge with the BJP after a three-decade-long alliance, how can we possibly consider merging with the Congress?” His comments highlight the ongoing political tension in Maharashtra, where alliances and party loyalties are frequently tested.

Thackeray expressed concerns that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) might seek to consolidate power by merging with factions led by Eknath Shinde, a rival leader within the Shiv Sena.
