Under directions from the Election Commission of India, Special Intensive Revision (SIR) training is being provided to Booth Level Officers (BLOs) by electoral officials to ensure the programme is implemented smoothly and effectively in the district. Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Ashika Jain inspected the training session held for Assembly constituency 044 Chabbewal on Tuesday and reviewed the arrangements.
Ashika Jain said BLOs play a crucial role in making the electoral process transparent and accurate. She urged that updating voter lists under the SIR programme must be carried out with utmost seriousness and responsibility so that every eligible citizen is included and errors are avoided.
She advised the trained officers to strictly adhere to the Election Commission’s guidelines and complete voter list-related tasks within the prescribed timelines. Jain added that the trained BLOs will also play an important role in voter awareness, thereby strengthening the democratic process.
Assembly-level master trainers Dr. Pradeep Kaur, Vijay Kumar, Hardeep Singh and Davinder Singh provided detailed guidance to BLOs on various aspects and procedures of the SIR programme and Election Commission guidelines.
Also present were Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Nidhi Kumud Bambah, Tehsildar (Elections) Ramandeep Kaur and Election Kanungo Lakhbeer Singh.
