Assembly-level master trainers given special SIR training
Hoshiarpur/ June 11/Daljeet Ajnoha
A district-level training programme was held under the chairpersonship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General)‑cum‑Additional District Election Officer Nidhi Kumud Bambah to effectively carry out activities related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll, following directions from the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab. During the session, assembly‑level master trainers appointed from various assembly constituencies in the district were provided training.
District master trainers Brajesh Sharma, Kiranjeet Singh, Charankaval Singh, Amit Saini and Harpreet Singh gave detailed briefings to the assembly‑level master trainers on the enumeration form filled in by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and on the door‑to‑door activities to be undertaken under the SIR. They also explained how BLOs should be trained at the assembly level so that the voter list revision proceeds smoothly in accordance with prescribed guidelines.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional District Election Officer Nidhi Kumud Bambah instructed the assembly‑level master trainers to train all Booth Level Officers in their respective constituencies with full seriousness and responsibility, and to familiarise them thoroughly with all SIR guidelines. She said that if any BLO faces problems or has doubts during the intensive revision drive, those should be resolved immediately to ensure work is completed transparently, effectively and within the stipulated time as per Election Commission directives. Election Kanungo Deepak Kumar and Lakhbir Singh were also present.
