Violence Erupts in Manipur’s Bishnupur: Clashes Leave Several Injured and Security Vehicles Set Ablaze

A clash erupted on Tuesday in Bishnupur, Manipur, leaving multiple individuals injured and resulting in the burning of two security vehicles. The unrest began when a group of local residents attempted to intercept a vehicle in the Thinungei area, suspecting it to be carrying armed members of the Kuki community. During the operation, authorities seized suspected brown sugar found in Ahamed’s checked baggage. Upon interrogation, he reportedly disclosed the location of a hidden cache of arms and ammunition in the Kwakta area of Bishnupur district. This information drew the attention of security forces, who were en route to investigate when they encountered the unrest near Thinungei.
