BJP Workers Express Concerns Over Youth Protests and Government Response

A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) official from Madhya Pradesh, who preferred to remain unnamed, conveyed that this youth unrest was not just localized but resonated throughout the state. He pointed out that while the majority of demonstrators in his district identified with leftist ideologies, the underlying frustration regarding educational policies was widespread and genuine. “The anger among the youth is palpable,” he stated, hinting at the potential for wider protests if the situation remains unaddressed.

Reflecting on the recent police actions in Delhi, the party member criticized the Delhi Police for their heavy-handed approach, asserting that the demonstrators were merely exercising their right to protest without resorting to violence. “The youth gathered in Connaught Place were not committing any crimes. Why did the police resort to violence against peaceful protestors?” he questioned. This sentiment was echoed by several BJP workers nationwide, who expressed concern over the ramifications of the Modi government’s approach to the ongoing protests.

Another BJP worker from Haryana, also choosing to remain anonymous, voiced his disappointment with the party leadership’s response to the protests. He remarked that the central authority underestimated the situation and failed to grasp the seriousness of the youth’s grievances. “They took it very lightly,” the 34-year-old stated, emphasizing the need for a more thoughtful response to the mounting unrest.
