NTA Denies Fabrication Claims on NEET-UG Answer Sheets, Warns Against Misinformation

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has recently responded to allegations surrounding the authenticity of answer sheets from the NEET-UG 2026 examination. On Monday, the agency stated that images circulating on social media, which purportedly show discrepancies in the answer sheets, are actually ‘digitally fabricated’. This response follows the re-conduct of the NEET-UG exam on June 21, after the initial test scheduled for May 3 was cancelled due to a question paper leak.

The NTA clarified that the results from this re-examination were released on July 16, and subsequent claims by some candidates regarding the optical mark recognition (OMR) sheets have raised significant concerns. Several students alleged that the answer sheets linked to their roll numbers did not match their responses, were switched with other candidates, or showed fewer attempts than they had actually made.

In light of these allegations, the NTA conducted a thorough review of the claims, stating that their official records consistently supported the integrity of the examination process. According to the agency, the authentic OMR sheets include accurate roll numbers, booklet identifiers, barcodes, candidate details, and proper invigilator signatures. They emphasized that the scores awarded to candidates are in line with the official answer keys and evaluation protocols.

Moreover, the agency specifically addressed the claims of five individual candidates—Avaneesh Srivastava, Pratibha Trivedi, Abhay Yadav, Lakshya Singh, and Arya Singh—whose concerns garnered attention on various social media platforms. The NTA affirmed that the evaluations of these candidates’ OMR sheets were conducted accurately and that their declared scores remained unchanged.

As misinformation continues to spread, the NTA has urged individuals to refrain from sharing unverified content that could mislead others about the examination results. By taking a firm stance, the agency aims to uphold the credibility of the NEET-UG examination and the integrity of the testing process, reassuring students and stakeholders of its commitment to maintaining high standards in educational assessments.
