Rajagopal, who served as the editor of The Telegraph from 2016 to 2023, revealed that during a recent revision of electoral rolls in West Bengal, his name was removed due to alleged discrepancies related to the 2002 voters’ list. He explained that both his and his father’s names could not be located, leading to their exclusion.

The Election Commission cited “logical discrepancies” as the reason for his removal. Such discrepancies can include mismatches in parental names, age gaps that raise questions, or a family structure that exceeds the traditional number of children.
