Mission Clean Punjab will greatly improve sanitation: Karamjit Kaur
Hoshiarpur / Daljeet Ajnoha/June 11
Praising the Punjab government’s recently launched “Mission Clean Punjab,” District Planning Committee chairperson Karamjit Kaur said the initiative will prove highly beneficial in streamlining sanitation services across the state’s urban areas.
Karamjit Kaur said that with the launch of the technology-driven campaign by Local Bodies Minister Harjot Singh Bains, sanitation services will see further improvements, bringing significant relief to residents.
She added that under Mission Clean, all municipal corporations and councils’ officers will be required to be on the field daily from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. to supervise cleaning operations.
Kaur said field officers have been urged to use modern technologies to make the campaign a success so that different urban areas across the state can be elevated to top standards in cleanliness.
Notably, under the mission each urban local body has been divided into 10-kilometre zones, with each zone led by an XEN, ADC, MC Commissioner, Joint Commissioner or Executive Officer. All officers are mandated to conduct field visits every morning between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m.
The Local Bodies Minister will also carry out surprise inspections across Punjab. XENs will submit daily reports to provide updates on progress, and an AI-based app will track the campaign’s real-time progress.
The campaign aims to achieve concrete and documented outcomes.
