Over 1,100 Indians Deported from the US in 2026 Amid Immigration Crackdown

The Ministry of External Affairs has reported that 1,174 Indian nationals have been deported from the United States as of early February 2026. This information was disclosed by ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal during a weekly media briefing, highlighting ongoing concerns regarding migration and its management between India and the US.

In comparison, the year 2025 saw a total of 3,576 Indians being deported from the US, indicating a significant trend in the rising number of deportations. Jaiswal emphasized that discussions between the two nations are currently underway, focused on addressing the challenges of illegal migration while also ensuring that legal migration processes remain unaffected.

The increase in deportations coincides with a stricter immigration policy implemented by the current US administration under President Donald Trump, who began his second term in January 2025.
