Bohan School Infrastructure to be Strengthened with Grants Worth ₹36 Lakh – Dr. Ishank Kumar

MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar Participates in Mega PTM at Government School Bohan

Said Greater Parent Participation Will Further Strengthen the Education System

A Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) titled “Shiksha Da Maha Jashan” (The Grand Celebration of Education) was organized at Government Senior Secondary School, Bohan. On this occasion, MLA Chabbewal Dr. Ishank Kumar attended as the Chief Guest and interacted with parents, teachers, and students.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ishank Kumar said that the Mega PTM has emerged as an important platform where teachers, parents, and students have participated enthusiastically, making the event a great success. He stated that such programmes enable parents to stay informed about their children’s education, progress, and school activities, thereby strengthening coordination between schools and families.

The MLA said that the Punjab Government is continuously striving to provide quality education, modern facilities, and a better learning environment in government schools. He noted that the positive transformation taking place in government schools has increased the confidence of parents, leading more families to enroll their children in government institutions. He also encouraged students to work hard and aim high in life.

Dr. Ishank Kumar informed that grants worth ₹36 lakh have been provided to further strengthen the infrastructure of Government School Bohan. He stated that new classrooms have been constructed at a cost of ₹13 lakh. In addition, ₹13 lakh has been sanctioned for the construction of a library building and ₹10 lakh for the construction of a school hall, both of which are currently under progress. He further informed that to promote modern and technology-driven education, the school has also been provided with two LED screens and eight computers.

School Principal Ms. Malkit Kaur welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitaries and shared details about the school’s academic achievements, sports activities, and co-curricular programmes. During the Mega PTM, parents were given detailed information regarding their children’s studies, attendance, performance, and discipline, and their suggestions were also sought.

Among those present on the occasion were Chairperson Ranjit Kaur, Block Samiti Chairperson Kulwinder Kaur, Halqa Incharge Kisan Wing Parminder Singh, SMC members Sandeep Saini and Kuljinder Singh, Lecturer Prabhjot Singh, Lecturer Munish Maudgil, Lecturer Gurpreet Kaur, Lecturer Harvinder Kaur, Stage Secretary Harkamal Kaur, ACT Mukesh Kumar, along with a large number of parents, teachers, and prominent residents of the area.

During the programme, the school staff also informed parents about the facilities being provided in government schools and the reforms being undertaken in the education sector. Parents shared their views and suggestions, while the school administration assured them that continuous efforts would be made to ensure better education and the overall development of students.
