Rahul Gandhi Criticizes Modi Over CUET Exam Delays Amid Education System Concerns

In the wake of significant technical issues that delayed the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) on Saturday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has launched a sharp critique against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that his policies have “completely ruined the education system of India.” The National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for administering the exam, reported that certain centres experienced disruptions due to a technical glitch linked to Tata Consultancy Services, which oversees the examination infrastructure.

According to the NTA, the problems experienced during the CUET-UG 2026 have now been resolved, and students will be granted full compensatory time to ensure no candidate is unfairly affected by the delays. The agency promptly updated the revised schedule for the exam, aiming to minimize the inconvenience caused to applicants vying for undergraduate seats in central universities.

This incident occurs against a backdrop of rising concerns regarding the integrity of various examinations in the country, including the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for medical college admissions, the Class 12 examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and assessments by the Staff Selection Commission for government job placements. Gandhi’s comments resonate with a growing sentiment among students and parents regarding the reliability of these critical examinations.

“No exam has been conducted with honesty lately,” Rahul Gandhi lamented in a social media post, highlighting the prevailing issues across multiple assessment platforms. He pointed out that four major examinations—NEET, CBSE, SSC, and now CUET—have collectively impacted nearly one crore students. His statement underlines the urgency for the government to address these systemic problems, which he argues are undermining the future of Indian youth.

Gandhi concluded his remarks by emphasizing that the current generation, whose educational prospects are being jeopardized, will hold the Prime Minister accountable for these failures in the education sector.
