Delhi’s Young Protesters Confront Police Amid Controversial Education Demands

In a dramatic turn of events on Monday, young protesters affiliated with the Cockroach Janta Party faced a police lathi-charge and tear gas in the heart of Delhi. The demonstration, which has been ongoing for several days at Jantar Mantar, aimed to draw attention to what they describe as the mismanagement of competitive exams by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The protesters had organized a march to Parliament coinciding with the commencement of the Monsoon Session. However, police forces barricaded their leaders, preventing them from proceeding. Following the confrontations, the Cockroach Janta Party reported that the Union government expressed willingness to engage in dialogue with the demonstrators. Two representatives from the protest group met with JP Nadda, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Union minister. They presented a letter outlining their demands, and reports indicate that Nadda promised to discuss these issues further within the government.

The protests have highlighted rising discontent among youth regarding educational governance and competitive examination processes.
