To improve living standards and provide relief to needy families, MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa distributed special ration kits under the(Meri Rasoi )“My Kitchen” scheme during a programme held in Mohalla Shri Guru Ravidas Nagar. A large number of local residents attended the event and welcomed the Punjab government’s welfare initiative.
MLA Jimpa said the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is continuously working to empower vulnerable sections of society and ease their daily economic burden. He added that the “(Meri Rasoi)My Kitchen” scheme is not limited to ration distribution but is a significant initiative linked to the dignity and security of needy families.
“As inflation rises, it is the government’s responsibility to provide relief to vulnerable households,” he said. “With this in mind, ration kits are being delivered to millions of families across the state so no household faces financial pressure in their kitchens.” He noted that the scheme will substantially reduce household food expenses. Each ration kit includes 2 kg of chana dal, 2 kg of sugar, 1 kg of salt, 200 g of turmeric and 1 litre of mustard oil. In addition, every beneficiary family will receive such a special ration kit every three months, which will also include other essential household items.
Jimpa said the Punjab government has achieved landmark progress in education, health, power and social security. Free electricity, improved health facilities and other public welfare measures are directly benefiting people. “The government aims to extend the fruits of development and public service to the last person in society,” he added.
He said it is his foremost duty to live up to the trust placed in him by the public, and with that spirit, development and welfare works across all areas of the constituency are being prioritised. He assured that such public-interest programmes will continue in future, keeping people’s needs in mind.
Beneficiary families present at the event expressed their gratitude to MLA Jimpa and the Punjab government, saying the (Meri Rasoi)“My Kitchen” scheme will help reduce household expenses and provide significant relief to needy families. Present on the occasion were Market Committee Hoshiarpur chairman Jaspal Singh Chechi, Sandeep and a large number of neighbourhood residents.
