NIA Alleges Terror Group Behind Delhi Blast Aimed to Overthrow Government and Enforce Sharia

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made serious allegations regarding the terror group responsible for the explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10, which resulted in the tragic loss of 11 lives. According to the agency, the group intended to destabilize the Indian government and impose Islamic law, known as Sharia, across the nation. This assertion was made public during a court filing on Thursday, where the NIA outlined its findings in a chargesheet against ten individuals implicated in the heinous act.

The blast, which occurred close to the Red Fort metro station, not only claimed lives but also left numerous individuals injured. Dr. Umar Un Nabi, believed to be the driver of the vehicle that detonated, was identified as a key figure in this incident. Tragically, he was killed in the explosion, and his identity was confirmed through DNA analysis conducted by authorities. The government swiftly categorized the event as a terrorist attack just two days following the incident.

In the chargesheet submitted to a Delhi court, the NIA named nine other suspects alongside Nabi, including Aamir Rashid Mir, Jasir Bilal Wani, Muzamil Shakeel, Adeel Ahmed Rather, Shaheen Saeed, Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay, Soyab, Bilal Naseer Malla, and Yasir Ahmad Dar. The agency has linked all ten individuals to Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, a faction associated with Al Qaida in the Indian Subcontinent, which has been officially recognized as a terrorist organization in India since June 2018.

As the investigation unfolds, the NIA has charged these suspects under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The agency is working meticulously to gather further evidence to secure convictions against those involved in planning and executing the attack. The charges highlight a growing concern over the presence of extremist elements within the country and the potential threats they pose to national security.
