CBI to Investigate Disha Salian’s Death Following Court Order

The Bombay High Court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take over the investigation into the death of Disha Salian, who was the former manager of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. This ruling comes amid ongoing suspicions surrounding her demise, which occurred on June 8, 2020, in Mumbai, just days before Rajput was found dead in his residence.

Salian’s case had initially been closed by the local police in 2021, citing a lack of evidence for foul play. However, after her father, Satish Salian, petitioned the High Court for a fresh investigation, the Court has now mandated the CBI to register a First Information Report (FIR). The division bench comprising Justices Sarang V. Kotwal and Ranjitsinha R. Satish Salian filed his petition in March 2025, expressing a desire for justice and accountability in light of his daughter’s tragic end. He specifically mentioned the involvement of several individuals, including Aaditya Thackeray, a leader from the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction).
