Reports indicate that while the constable was filming the interactions between the AAP supporters and the public, he was allegedly surrounded and attacked by the party’s followers. The police have stated that the leaders are being charged under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertain to obstructing a public servant and causing bodily harm during the execution of their duties.

In response to the FIR, Saurabh Bharadwaj has accused the police of attempting to intimidate AAP leaders through the filing of false charges. He expressed his frustration in an interview with The Times of India, claiming that the police are fearful and attempting to coerce the party by implicating them in manufactured cases. “This hooliganism by police won’t work,” Bharadwaj asserted, emphasizing the party’s commitment to standing firm against such tactics.

The event that sparked this series of confrontations began on Sunday, when Minister Verma incidentally slapped a local individual named Sahib Singh during a heated exchange regarding infrastructure complaints. Sahib Singh, who is involved in managing social media for MLA Jarnail Singh, was reportedly raising concerns about the quality of roads in the area.
