Hawkers Protest Eviction Drive Near Railway Stations

फेरीवालों के बेदखली अभियान को लेकर विरोध प्रदर्शन

कोलकाता, पश्चिम बंगाल: रेलवे स्टेशनों के आसपास चलाए गए एक बड़े पैमाने के बेदखली अभियान के कारण अनेक फेरीवालों और छोटे दुकानदारों के सामने आजीविका का संकट खड़ा हो गया है। अधिकारियों ने क्षेत्र में अतिक्रमण हटाने की कार्रवाई के तहत दुकानों और अस्थायी ढांचों को बुलडोजर से हटाया।

प्रभावित फेरीवालों का आरोप है कि इस कार्रवाई ने उनकी रोजी-रोटी छीन ली है और कई परिवारों को आर्थिक कठिनाइयों में धकेल दिया है। कुछ स्थानीय निवासियों ने निराशा व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि उन्होंने बेहतर भविष्य और जीवन स्तर में सुधार के वादों के आधार पर चुनावों में सत्तारूढ़ दल का समर्थन किया था।

कई दुकानदारों ने आरोप लगाया कि सहायता मिलने के बजाय अब उन्हें अपनी आजीविका और व्यवसाय खोने का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। प्रभावित लोगों में से कुछ का कहना है कि पिछली सरकार के दौरान उनकी स्थिति अपेक्षाकृत अधिक सुरक्षित थी।

इस बेदखली अभियान को लेकर स्थानीय स्तर पर बहस छिड़ गई है। समर्थकों का तर्क है कि सार्वजनिक सुरक्षा और विकास के हित में रेलवे स्टेशन तथा सार्वजनिक स्थानों को अतिक्रमण मुक्त रखना आवश्यक है। वहीं आलोचकों का कहना है कि प्रभावित लोगों के लिए उचित पुनर्वास और वैकल्पिक रोजगार की व्यवस्था की जानी चाहिए थी।

बेदखल किए गए फेरीवालों द्वारा उठाई गई सभी चिंताओं और शिकायतों पर अधिकारियों की ओर से अभी तक विस्तृत प्रतिक्रिया नहीं दी गई है।

Many affected hawkers claim that the action has deprived them of their livelihoods and pushed several families into financial hardship. Some residents expressed disappointment, saying that they had supported the ruling party during the elections after promises of a better future and improved living conditions.

Several shop owners alleged that instead of receiving support, they are now facing the loss of their occupations. A number of affected individuals said they preferred the previous administration and believe their situation was more secure under the earlier government.

The eviction drive has sparked debate among local residents, with supporters arguing that public spaces and railway station areas must be cleared for safety and development, while critics contend that adequate rehabilitation and alternative livelihood arrangements should be provided for those affected.

The authorities have not yet responded to all of the concerns raised by the displaced hawkers.
